My work focuses on my Ghanaian culture and how i can share it well with the American audience in a positive and well grounded way. My father a Fulbright scholar came here to teach African history and now i am trying to share my culture with a brush and watercolor paints. my stories mainly are told through the lives of fishermen and their children, women and market scenes. I weave some of these images with symbols from the Akan people called adinkra symbols to expand the story line and get people to understand how our oral traditions have been woven through the American fabric through quilt symbols that have been part of our oral traditions from the African continent.
